SOLV Ambassador Job Description

Do you enjoy talking to people? Are you interested in attending exciting local festivals and community events?
SOLV is looking for volunteers to help spread the word about SOLV programs and connect people to their SOLV solution! SOLV Ambassadors are needed to staff phone banks and information tables at various events in the Metro Portland area. Events include the Oregon Boat Show, Salmon Festival, SOLV’s Annual Citizenship Awards Banquet, and many other community activities in the Metro Portland area. Materials and supplies are organized and managed by SOLV.

SOLV Ambassador Job Description

SOLV Ambassador Volunteer Position

Summary: SOLV Ambassadors work with SOLV Outreach staff to carry out varied and necessary duties at outreach and special events, thus acting as advocates for SOLV’s mission and helping to spread the word about SOLV’s programs to every corner of Oregon.

Location: Varies. Multiple community locations (festivals, community fairs, banquet venues)

Job Assignments May Include:

• Representing SOLV at community events, fairs, and festivals and distributing information on SOLV volunteer opportunities and additional materials
• Providing logistical assistance during special events, including but is not limited to:
• Greeting and welcoming event guests
• Staffing registration tables and check-in
• Asking attendees to sign up for SOLV mailing lists and/or membership
• Providing pre and post event assistance (setting up, cleaning up, and breaking down)
• Contacting SOLV volunteers and supporters for relationship cultivation and membership recruitment
• Other duties as assigned

• Dependability
• Great Interpersonal Skills, including being comfortable with a high level of social interaction with the public
• Ability to talk about SOLV’s mission, programs, etc.
• Flexible hours desirable, ability to work evenings and/or weekends a plus
• Ability to physically help with setting up chairs and other duties requiring physical stamina/strength
